The short version
Styled only collects what it needs to answer the question “what should I wear today?” We do not sell your data. Your wardrobe photos are yours. This marketing website (getstyled.app) uses standard advertising and analytics pixels so we can measure which channels bring people to the app and show relevant ads — details below under Third-party analytics and advertising.
Who we are
Styled is operated by Jeremy Kirby, sole proprietor, doing business as Styled (“Styled,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). If you have any questions about this policy, email support@getstyled.app.
What we collect
Wardrobe photos
When you add an item to your digital wardrobe, Styled takes a photo using your device’s camera (with your permission) or imports one from your photo library. The photo is processed to identify the item (type, color, formality) and stored as part of your wardrobe so it can be used in outfit recommendations.
Calendar events
If you connect your calendar, Styled reads the titles, times, and locations of events for the current day through Apple’s EventKit framework. We use this to understand the formality of your day — a board meeting calls for different clothes than a hike. We do not store full event histories, attendee lists, or notes.
Location (for weather)
If you grant location permission, Styled fetches the current weather for your location so the day’s outfit is appropriate for the conditions. Location is used only at the time of the request and is not stored as a history.
Account and subscription
Styled uses Apple’s in-app purchase system for the $9.99/month subscription. We do not see or store your credit card information — Apple handles billing entirely. We receive an anonymized receipt that confirms your subscription status.
Device and diagnostic data
Like most apps, Styled collects standard diagnostic information (crash logs, anonymized usage metrics) so we can fix bugs and improve the app. This data is not tied to your identity and is used only for app quality.
How AI processing works
Styled uses Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic, to analyze wardrobe photos and generate outfit recommendations. When you add an item or request an outfit, the relevant data (the photo of the item, or metadata about your wardrobe along with today’s weather and calendar signals) is sent to Anthropic’s servers for processing. Anthropic’s handling of that data is governed by Anthropic’s privacy policy. We do not send your identity to Anthropic — only the information needed to produce the styling result.
How we use your data
- To generate daily outfit recommendations.
- To build and maintain your digital wardrobe.
- To tailor formality and suitability to your calendar and weather.
- To operate your Styled subscription.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not train AI models on your wardrobe photos. Your wardrobe, calendar, and location data are never used for advertising or shared with ad networks. Website-visit data from the marketing site (getstyled.app) is used for advertising measurement and retargeting as described below; no data from inside the app is ever sent to advertising platforms.
Third-party analytics and advertising (website)
The Styled marketing website (getstyled.app) uses standard advertising and analytics pixels. These load only on the website, not inside the iOS app. We use them so we can understand which channels bring people to Styled, measure whether our ads work, and show relevant ads to people who have shown interest. The pixels we use are:
- Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) — tracks page views and App Store clicks on the marketing site. Used for measuring ad performance and building retargeting audiences. Governed by Meta’s privacy policy.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — same purpose, for LinkedIn advertising. Governed by LinkedIn’s privacy policy.
- TikTok Pixel — same purpose, for TikTok advertising. Governed by TikTok’s privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregated website traffic and behavior measurement. Governed by Google’s privacy policy.
These services may set cookies and collect limited device and interaction data (IP address, browser, page URL, click events). They do not have access to your wardrobe, calendar, location, or any content inside the Styled app.
How to opt out: you can disable most ad-network tracking in your browser settings, install an ad-blocking extension, or opt out at the network level — Meta ad preferences, LinkedIn opt-out, Google Analytics opt-out, or your TikTok ad settings. You can also email support@getstyled.app to request that we exclude you from future retargeting audiences.
Who we share data with
- Apple — for subscription billing and App Store distribution. Governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude) — for AI styling and wardrobe analysis, as described above.
- Weather data provider — for current weather lookups using approximate location.
- Analytics and crash reporting tools — standard mobile diagnostics (no personal identifiers).
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Styled or its users.
How long we keep your data
Your wardrobe items and preferences are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete the app and cancel your subscription, your data associated with Styled is eligible for deletion. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@getstyled.app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to opt out of certain kinds of processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@getstyled.app.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete that information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Styled does not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@getstyled.app.
EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The lawful bases for our processing are: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating the app, and your consent (for optional permissions like camera, calendar, and location).
Children
Styled is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, reputable infrastructure providers) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we do not guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
